DIGITAL DOCUMENTS VS PDFS VS WEBSITES
The problem with PDFs.
Adobe first launched PDFs back in 1993, so the technology is nearly 30 years old. Whilst PDFs have moved on, and they are still suitable in specific situations, users still have to suffer through some limitations:
USABILITY:
PDFs were never designed to be responsive, so to read PDFs on mobile devices is not easy. To navigate around you have to pinch and zoom your way through the content.
CREATIVITY:
PDFs don’t handle other types of rich media well. Embedding videos and animations can technically be done, but the result is quite often a very poor experience.
MEASURABILITY:
Vanity statistics are about as much as you can get from PDFs i.e. how many downloads. Once the content is with the user, you have no view on what they looked at, or what they did next.

But what about browsable PDFs?
Browsable (or flip books) PDFs are an improved version of plain PDFs. However, they are a half-way measure: they still lack interactive capabilities like mobile-responsiveness and pop-up forms that modern-day readers want to see in their content.
Why not build a microsite or just put it on your website?
Both Digital Documents and websites use HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. They both live on the web and are viewed with a web browser. However, despite using the same technology, Digital Documents are fundamentally different from websites.
Digital Documents are independent pieces of online interactive content with their own URLs. They have distinctive features like linear navigation and low-code capabilities that make them stand apart from regular websites or microsites.
Digital Documents maintain clear structures and can be created in short timescales and allow you to deliver more digital content without impacting your current web infrastructure.
Fundamentally they are for content that would traditionally be found in a PDF and not naturally placed on a website - so Digital Documents should work with, not against, your web content.

A BETTER EXPERIENCE
Digital Documents enable you to deliver immersive and rich content that’s engaging, measurable and looks great on any device.
